INSTRUCTIONS FOR DONORS FROM THE UNITED STATES and getting a Tax deduction on your U.S. Taxes:
As most of you know, St. John's is part of the Church of England through the Diocese in Europe. As such, we are part of the world-wide Anglican Communion. The Episcopal Church based in the United States of America is a member of the Anglican Communion. We recently become aware that it is possible to give to St. John's here in Casablanca through the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America (DFMS). They are a “tax exempt” religious organization under the provisions of the US Internal Revenue Code and will issue the donor a tax-deductible receipt for your donation. The funds received are wired to the Diocese in Europe for St. John's after the close of each month.
The anticipated costs involved are the routine costs that your bank or credit card company charges you.
You can make your US tax deductible donation to DFMS with a written preference request that it be for the benefit of St. John's either by a bank check, credit card or wire transfer. The following paragraphs provide detailed step-by-step instructions on how to use each method for your donation. Please also see DFMS/PECUSA website at: http://www.episcopalchurch.org/sites/default/files/contribution instructions.pdf
